I am hoping somebody may have suggestions regarding this problem. I am running OS 10.2.6 on my 500 mhz slot loading iMac.
I am having recurrent problems with the icons freezing in my dock. They will enlarge and start to bounce but then freeze. Sometimes the icon will finally resume bouncing and the application, other times everything freezes and will not respond so I have to restart. This happens for several applications - not just one.
So, you have repaired permissions from Disk Utility on your HD, right?
Have you created a "Test User" to see if that user also has the same problems? (Just wondering if this is part of Apple's troubleshooting advice.)
