The dock is vertical on the right side anchored to the lower right
corner. Running from top to bottom:

Finder, AOL 10.3, AOL 5 (OS 9), Appleworks 6, Eudora 6, POPMonitor
2.1.1, Mail, Address Book, Palm Desktop, Ouicken, Safari, OmniWeb,
iTunes, GoLive 6, iMovie, iDVD, FileMaker Pro 3 (OS 9), iChat,
Sherlock, Quicktime Player, System Preferences, Stickies,
Applications Folder, Apple - MacOS X, Trash

If you ever need to make room, you could put your less-used Internet-related apps in a folder (AOL, Eudora, Mail, Safari, Omniweb), and your less-used iApps in a folder. You can safely "pull" the "Mac OS X" bookmark and Quicktime player off the Dock -- QT will launch automatically whenever needed, and the OS X bookmark is just to the main OS X page. I use PrefsMenu (a menu extra) to take the system preferences off the Dock and put them in the menubar. Not saying you must or should, just that you could.
