From: "Dennis B. Swaney" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I was thinking that I might just remove ALL of the OS X apps since the Applications Folder is in the dock.
Well, you certainly COULD do that, though I find that my MOST used stuff (Mail, iTunes and Safari in my case) I would probably want to be able to get to in one click rather than a click-n-hold, but that's all to personal taste.
Since I have a Kensington Expert Mouse Pro, I have many buttons. The one assigned as "control-click" seems to do the same as your "click-and-hold" option (besides, another button is already assigned as "Drag" which is, of course, "click-and-hold") so it isn't a problem.
I'd have a more compact dock: Finder, AOL 5 (OS 9), FileMaker Pro 3 (OS 9), Applications Folder, Trash.
Not that it's ANY of my business, but is there some reason you're not using the much-improved OS X-native version of AOL?
I do. The AOL 5 is a backup plus, when my Rev B was down for a drive transplant, I put an alias of the OS 9 version in the middle of the desktop so that my wife could still write messages. I've removed it now but I'm keeping the dock one. HOWEVER, the AOL 5 version is much faster connecting than the AOL 10.3 version (I'm on the BYOA plan). Also, AOL 10.3 sends only html/mime, while AOL 5 still sends just plain text.
