First that's because many movie files were created with the PC in mind, 
so used codecs which may only be present on a PC.

2nd MS Windows Media Player on the PC seems to do a better job of 
figuring out what codec is needed and downloading it on the fly.


And of course, have you made sure you have the latest DivX codec on your 
Mac? Lots of videos seem to use DivX.
