I just started having a problem with the internal modem on my iMac G4 running Panther. When I'm using Mail 1.3.3 or Safari downloading a web site, my modem will disconnect from the internet. When I redial it stays connected for a few minutes & then disconnects again, and scrolls the disconnect message until I restart the computer. It happens whether or not the internet connection is idle or in use & has been getting more frequent during this past week. I'm new to this computer (and OSX) & was hoping someone might have an idea what the problem could be.

Thanks!

Tom
