How do you run your computer from an external HD?
Hi Ken;
I think the previous messager was assuming that you have a Firewire port on your iMac. I don' recall whether the Firewire ports were available on the model you mentioned but, if there is at least one, it is a simple matter of attaching a Firewire external hard drive. It will show up on your Desktop just like the old days of SCSI externals, only much faster.
You MAY be able to make this a boot volume also. Try installing an OS on it, and seeing if it will boot up your computer. I have such an external firewire drive which will boot my wife's flat panel iMac, and my iBook, but won't boot my oriignal Bondi Blue iMac for technical reasons I won't get into here.
Good luck!!
