I'm wondering... this outfit you took it to sounds like it's being run by a bunch of teenagers! This is certainly not professional treatment of customers! It's just a feeling I have, but this sounds so VERY "highschool". Sometimes kids seem to have all the technical knowledge to solve computer problems, but never forget that they often have no business sense, nor the accountability to responsibly execute a contract. Or maybe they're Windoze zombies. I dunno... kinda makes me remember the feeling when I walked into Best Buy a while back and was surrounded by Mac-hostile geek drones.
