What would the best option be for transferring files from a PC to a new iMac? My friend (PC user) is converting over to the mac this weekend. He is out buying a new iMac and wants me to come over to transfer everything.
First thing to come to mind is a network. Would this be the best option or should I tell him to buy a USB floppy for the iMac?
If the PC can burn CDs, that might be the quickest. Apple has a section for helping people switch that you might find helpful:
