I feel as if I am a bit of an expert at this, since I just got my new eMac this last December.
I burned a CD of each of the following PC files:

1. .txt .doc (these are my word processing files)
2. .bmp .jpg .gif .png .tif (these are my graphic files)
3. .htm (These are my internet files - I design web pages)
4. .ppt .xls .dbf (These are the rest of MS Office files)
5. Misc files (including some that are not Mac compatible, like MS Works, etc)

Excellent advice. Just under FYI for everyone. MacLink Plus from datawiz will open MS works documents, spreadsheets, etc., just fine. It has saved my bacon more than once over the years. A utility that is like the Mac. It just works. If you get a lot of files from peecee users? It's an invaluable tool.

No financial interest, yadda, yadda, yadda, just a long time, very satisfied user of MacLink Plus.
