No, not true. I have done this on a 10 gig 233 in which I partitioned 2
equal partitions and put OSX Jag on the first one and OS9 on the other. I
was able to boot off either.

Now I have a 400 slot loader with a 80 gig partitioned 65 gigs and 11 gigs.
I have panther on the first partition and OS9 on the other and again I can
boot off either.
