I really like my Epson Perfection 2400 Photo scanner.
When I bought it there was a problem with compatibility with OSX, but a 
friend just bought the same scanner and the software now is super with 
OSX.  Does a pretty decent job with slides, too.  Also highly rated in 
recent Consumer Reports review of digital equipment.

I was looking at the Canon Lide series but have read mixed reviews on

portability of the Lide scanners.

Any suggestions ?  Anything in the $100-200 CDN range would be great.
