I've had the LiDE 30 for a while and while I was pained on initial 
purchase that the early OS X version seemed to require at least 
Photoshop Elements' drivers (or of course the full blown Photoshop) but 
somewhere along the line they provided OS X drivers, so that's no 
longer a problem. Still, scanner drivers are one software component 
which at times seems painfully non-intuitive to me. Apparently just a 
personal failing.
There's often great deals with large rebates for LiDEs posted on 
dealmac.com.

I was looking at the Canon Lide series but have read mixed reviews on

Any suggestions ?  Anything in the $100-200 CDN range would be great.
