My summer classroom inherited an imac with OS X installed. It starts with an icon of the globe showing maps of North and South America flashing on the screen. This goes on for a couple of minutes which is then followed by the famous folder with a question mark (system), which after a few minutes is followed by the system actually going through the emotions of system X booting (that's how I know it has system X). The screen then turns dark blue from a light blue color and stays that way for hours and hours... I've used hardware diagnostic software, disk firs aid, apples software recovery and even clean installed system 9.2.2 but all to no avail. Any clues?
Thanks.
Peter.
