I have a slot-loading CD iMac (new in June 2000) that has on-again and off-again problem connecting to an office 10/100 network. I've ruled out cabling as the problem, and I don't think the integrated network port is bad, either. When I do get the iMac to see the network (servers and printers), some sort of glitch later with knock it off the network. Several restarts later, the iMac might see the network; sometimes it won't. After reinstalling the System Folder once, the iMac saw the network, only to be kicked off later following a system lock-up. I've also thrown away network-related preferences, thinking a file might have become corrupted. Has anyone else had this problem and come up with a solution?
