I'm sorry, but I don't believe a word of it. Could be I'm wrong, of course, but I don't think so.
I know a number of Swedes, and they're all aware that copying CDs that do not belong to you is a violation of the Berne Convention. Most CDs actually have this WRITTEN right on the disc or jacket, in fact.
Even if you're telling the truth -- you conveniently omitted this info from your previous posts and left a clear impression that you were doing something you know perfectly well is illegal.
I don't normally agree with Chas because IMO he can be a little harsh. But in this case I do. From your post I gathered that you were going to your library, paying the �1.50 or whatever to borrow a cd, ripping it to your HDD then returning it, which would be wrong, both morally and legally. If you like the bands music so much, go buy it! its obviously going to be a safe investment, If you really want to be cheap you can buy the whole album for about �7.99 on iTMS. Though IMO if you're going to buy the whole album, I buy the disc with the shiney (and normally broken) box with the paper insert and everything, advantage there is you have the full 1440kpbs of AIFF on the disc that you can encode down to whatever level you want. :)
