I'd prefer OS X, but I can live with 9 if I have to.

As for getting sound in... um, what do you recommend? I was just going to 
use the Mic jack on the iMac (er, you know I didn't actually look to see 
that there IS one on this model, but I'm pretty sure there is).

If that isn't acceptable, what's a good option (iMic comes to mind, I'd 
like something that can handle both a microphone to capture live sounds 
and line level sources so I can capture from other sources. I don't know 
if iMic can do that or not)
