Yes it is true you can run OS X in 640x480
That'll teach me to speak based on other people's comments...
I was going to hook up a 9" TFT screen to my beige G3 and shove it inside a Mac SE back in the days of Janguar, but I was told OS X couldn't run in 640x480 (which was all the monitor could handle) so I never bothered...
