If you follow the instructions in the second part of the page, you will see 
that you boot into single user mode. (Hold down Cmd+S as you reboot). This 
takes you to a "terminal" where you are root, so be careful shat you type. 
Follow the instructions from there, and it'll definately work (has for me)...
