Hello,
I've recently scored a free blue 500 MHz iMac 2001, with 128 MB Ram and Airport
currently running 9.2 that I'd like to wipe clean and install OS X on. I'm not
a super-geek with computers tho, so I need some help.
I'm not sure how to wipe clean a Mac, do I just do a clean install of 9.2? Does
that get rid of all older files/documents? Should I back things up? Will a
clean install tweak the Airport feature (a bonus find that I'd like to use)?
Also, any tips/suggestions about installing OS X on the iMac? Can it handle it?
I got a bundle of Apple software w/ the computer, including system recovery
disks and 9.0 and OS X disks. Is it safe to assume that the computer can handle
OS X? If so, why would the previous users not loaded it?
Thanks in advance for any help or sources suggested,
Kari
