Some like Macintosh better than Mac OS X. If you like Microsoft
Windows then you would like Mac OS X better than Macintosh (9.x). I
would put both on the machine if I were in your position. You can then
decide what you like better. I like the stability of Mac OS X but I
like the old Macintosh interface (GUI) because it does not have the
Windows taskbar or "dock" like Mac OS X and the old OS or OpenStep
operating system from NeXT Computer does. I would also upgrade
memory...Do not buy any DIMM smaller than 512MB because you might like
to add more later and you would not regret having 1GB of memory. If
you partition the hard drive like I did you should make a larger
partition for Mac OS X because the programs use more disk space than
Macintosh programs do.
Good luck with your new old computer. Mine is a 400MHz iMac.
