The iMac is also nearly silent. It replaced an aging iMac DV 400
(a model with no fans), and the new iMac is quiter than the old one
(because of the noise of the hard drive in the old iMac.)
I don't know what you need to do with the iMac -- if you need it
SILENT, go for the Mac Mini. Otherwise, the May 2005 iMac is a G5
powerhouse in very unassuming guise.

I bought my G5 iMac 17" 2 Ghz. with the upgraded 250 GB HD, Bluetooth
mouse & keyboard, to replace my 9600/350 - G3-500.... I __love__ it!
Currently running 10.4.34, no issues.
My son bought the 20" iMac G5 Gen1, and he loves it! Has a PPC 6100,
too.
No display issues or noise issues with either machine.
