While I did have a wired keyboard and mouse lying around at the time, I
don't recall needing it to set up my machine (bought it with the BT
option.)

My only gripes with the BT setup so far:
The bottom row of keys feel like they're rubbing up against something.
Don't know if that's just mine or all the BT keybaord.  I tend to notice
it more when playing games.  Other daily use, not so much, or I've managed
to tune it out.
On startup, the keyboard sometimes takes a little longer to connect.
Maybe 10 to 20 seconds (never really timed it, but it feels like a minute
when you're tapping keys waiting to log in.)  The mouse connects almost
instantly.
