You are lucky if it won't mount !!

My downloaded updater .img mounted and installed properly & updated my
system to 10.6.5...

And then I got a grey screen with a  flashing "?" when I restarted and
booting the iMac from the Drive Genius DVD, the original iMac system disk,
and Disk Utilities on the Snow Leopard install disks all reported that my
drive had zero bytes on it.

2007 2.8 GHz Extreme just two months out of AppleCare so it cost me to get
the drive pulled & replaced.
