Hello Chris,

It seems like that you have problem with user rights or permissions on those two computers.

Did you compare their local group memberships on the local computers with a user's PC that does not have problem?

Did you push install Office or installed it individually on each PC?

Have you tried putting these two users in the local group called "Power Users" for the sake of testing?

If they go to another PC and log in, do they have the same problem with Outlook?

(By the way, my firm is also using Eudora currently, but the management is really pushing the issue of switching to Outlook. Once we upgraded our Office from version 97 to 2007, I don't think we can postpone the switching. We're an architect firm where users send zillion messages with large file attachments, including CC to all persons who count, so Outlook is not an ideal email solution for us from the angle of attachments. Since (4 years ago) we switched from Netscape email to Eudora, we haven't had any email crash or corruption on the local PCs.)

Hello list

This is way off topic, but if any on knows it'll be one of you guys.

I recently upgraded all my users to MSOffice 2003 from MSO2K with very
little fuss except for two users.

They previously used eudora as their mail client, but I had transferred the
mail and uninstalled eudora before the office install.

Outlook will run but not send or receive email. It works perfectly when I
log on as local/domain admin. Giving the users local admin rights to their
PC's allows Outlook to work correctly.

The rest of office works as expected, if I "test the account settings" in
outlook it works (all the green ticks) just the mail transport fails.

I cannot understand why 2 out of 150 installs did not work. Has any one
seen this behaviour? Can you give me a clue?

Thanks - Chris
