If you're compfortable with the registry, you can copy the keys over using the builty-in export and import functions in the registry editor.

HKLM\Software\Ipswitch\IMail\domains\

You might have to modify paths and such. Just remember that each domain has two hives(like virtual206 and mydomain.com), and you need both of them. The passwords are encoded in the registry keys.

I just upgraded from 8.15 to 2006.1 a couple of weekends ago, and it went very smoothly. I copied the registry keys and the mailboxes. The only clue the users had was the dramatically different web interface,

I had one glitch having to do with message processing rules with one user. Something in his rules wasn't right and 2006.1 barfed on it. No error trapping there, apparently.

Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] Password Changes Spontaneously?

What kind of authentication are you using? Imail, NT, or
External DB? If NT or NT/AD, a spammer might be password
guessing and triggering the 3-atttempt-disable rule.

I'm using the iMail DB. This whole password needing to be reset thing
doesn't seem to be concentrated on one domain, and it isn't widespread.
This user account here, that user account there, otherwise I'd be awfully
paranoid right about now.

Them thare's fightin' words on this list <g>

Sorry, I'm not trolling for trouble. I'm just not as familiar with the new iMail as I was the old, and a lot of the things that I used to be able to do
I'm nervous to try. The reason I asked about that utility was because I
have on old 8.15 box I'm trying to retire, and I'm not quite sure how I'm
going to bring the user accounts over to the 2006.1 box without knowing
their account passwords. Users like seamless. They hate to be involved.

Any advice on how to best accomplish that?

Thanks again for your time and effort.
