I'm using the iMail DB. This whole password needing to be reset thing
doesn't seem to be concentrated on one domain, and it isn't widespread.
This user account here, that user account there, otherwise I'd be awfully
paranoid right about now.

That is strange, and making it worth decrypting the passwords just to see what they changed TO. That might tell you if something strange is at work.

I'm nervous to try. The reason I asked about that utility was because I
have on old 8.15 box I'm trying to retire, and I'm not quite sure how I'm
going to bring the user accounts over to the 2006.1 box without knowing
their account passwords. Users like seamless. They hate to be involved.

Any advice on how to best accomplish that?

You might want to try this on a lab machine first - (install an eval version of 2006.1). Create the domain on the new machine. Export the Imail registry tree for a test domain from the old box and replace that branch into the 2006.1 box. Copy the directories to the same location on the new machine, and the users should be fully migrated. Otherwise, you are best off with extracting the passwords and migrating the accounts that way.
