I'm biased for 2 boxes, but I think to expect a one-box Imail solution with 3rd party add-ons doing full anti-spam and content-scanning, esp if ALL msgs are completely acceptd (DATA command) before reject is done to hanlde 750K/day of anything is asking for trouble.

If that single box can handle all the traffic without a proxy, especially if they are using Declude or something else that hooks into Imail, I believe it will only get better with ASSP in front on the same box as the number of messages that Imail/Declude sees can drop drastically with ASSP. If that single box is having a hard time in the first place, adding ASSP to it will possibly reduce the traffic enough that a second computer is not warranted for performance reasons alone. Since ASSP is free, it's certainly worthwhile to consider adding it if you have the time to take on a new project.
