I'm not sure of our policy on this at the moment, but if it's going to be a
short term solution while changing providers, I don't see it to be a
problem.

Ask Ipswitch, I find them to be reasonable people.

Try to organize a backup MX to help reduce risk of lost mail, at
least through the changeover period.
