Andrew,

The Forward has the wrong address. The first one could expand to
'[EMAIL PROTECTED] ' (see the Postmasters address!). Remove the
first address in the Forward and all should be OK.

Looks like the host with the IP given for host named mail.cshore.com, will
accept [EMAIL PROTECTED], but not [EMAIL PROTECTED] BTW, it is not
IMail!! So my answer may not be correct, if you are not using IMail.

Whoops, I see the hostname is email! So here is more from a telnet session
to email.cshore.com:
220 X1 NT-ESMTP Server email.cshore.com (IMail 6.00 315642-2)
vrfy root
252 Cannot VRFY user
mail from: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
250 ok
rcpt to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
550 not local host cshore.com, not a gateway (you don't have an Alias)
rcpt to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
550 unknown user <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (user does not exist!)
rcpt to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
250 ok its for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (the 'good' account, but bad forward!)

So my first response is almost right. Mitch exists @wechter.com, but neither
mwechter(s) exist on the IMail machine, so that first forward address is
just wrong (as far as local to IMail is concerned). If IMail did expand it
to the longer hostname (that used by IMail!), that would not work, either,
as shown above (you don't have an alias, but I now see that is another
machine!). If you are expecting IMail to send some email to the mail.
machine, then try the longer form of the address, in the forward, i.e.
[EMAIL PROTECTED] But, I just found that host will not accept that
longer name, it only likes cshore.com (even though its name is
mail.cshore.com). Guess that will not work. So the only other thing I can
think to do for IMail is to add an entry in its HOSTS file, to direct mail
with @cshore.com, to the IP for mail.cshore.com. Of course, there may be
some other things you can do to the non-IMail server, to get it to accept
the longer form of addressing and that would then work, too.

Whew!!! that was harder (and longer!) that I expected and not quite so
simple as first thought.

Happy Holidays!

Daniel Donnelly
