Hi Mike,
Here it is.
Not to difficult.
1. I performed a clean install of the latest 6.06 Imail on the new server.
2. I configured my hosts manually (I only had 4 so this wasn't hard)
3. I then copied my user subfolders containing their mail and info from the
old machine to the appropriate subfolders on the new one. (WARNING: I copied
about 4200 folders total and Windows did NOT copy all the folders even
though I just selected the entire parent folder and copied) It skipped
about 5 user's subfolders that we know of so far. So archive the old ones
somewhere so you can go back and grab them.
4. For the Imail database hosts I then used the "Find Orphans" feature on
the user properties page for each host. It added each user to the Imail
list. I then used the Global Changes option to reset the users parameters
that we control. That simple.
5. For the ODBC host all I had to do was copy our custom .DLL into the new
install and change the path in the .DLL to the new path tfor the user
subfolders and it listed all the users in the Imail user list. (I got scared
when it couldn't find anything because I forgot we had a new path for the
user folders).
Hope this helps. This method is NOT in Ipswitch's KB.
