I have trouble with spam e-mail. My server has been used to deliver e-mail. I configured the e-mail server I was using to allow relay only from local hosts but it did not work. Then I dowloaded this eval version of IMail to try a different option. Everything seemed to work find, but to my surprise, I had the same problem the next day after installing and configuring IMail. There were about 88,000 e-mails in the spool directory from users that do not belong to our network and directed to users we do not know. I have configured the spool parameters as follows in the RELAY MAIL FOR ADDRESSES option:

IP Address             Subnet Mask
192.168.168.0          255.255.255.0

These IP addresses are internal. I included the public ones at first but I removed them.
I changed the parameter in the registry and defined the SMTP port because I am using Mcafee Webshield for virus protection. The e-mial is not delivered by Webshield SMTP. I also changed the hkey_local_machine\software\ipswitch\imail\domains value with a public IP address because the server was not delivering external e-mail.The IMail PC has 2 IP's, one internal and one public.

Can you tell me if there is anything else I can do to avoid this problem.
