I cannot see how it would change your 'vulnerability'..., but maybe I don't
know what you are trying to ask? Nobody is not really different than any
other alias, it is a forwarder, but in its case, only for email that is sent
to an unregistered user or alias or list.
The question I would ask is 'What is left after you delete or otherwise
handle, all mail to 'unknown' addresses?". If nothing is left, then you will
not have to do this 'work', let IMail do it.

When you have a 'nobody' alias, then there are no 'unknown' users! If you
remove the nobody alias, then IMail will bounce 'unknown users'
automatically.

Is there a way for them to just bounce automatically with an unknown user
