It would be useful to have a "user account closed" option which would cause
mail to specific users to be bounced. That feature would prevent mail
addressed to "closed" accounts from being accepted by the "nobody" alias.

Most mail servers do not have a "nobody" alias, so that mail will bounce
properly.
The drawback to taking it away is that it would be possible for spammers to
do a "dictionary attack" testing lots of potential E-mail addresses at your
server to see if they are valid. That eats up your resources (bandwith +
log files). It doesn't happen often unless you are specifically targeted by
the spammer.
