Terry,

Hmmm.... I also tried it, but differently from yesterday and I too am
getting the response. Yesterday I was using telnet session to send the mail
and did not get a response, but today using an email client, I do. Almost
sure this worked in the past, but been quite some time since I visited this
issue. I don't find any other methods of keeping this response from being
sent.

Looks like the 'Disable List command' is only when one sends 'list listname'
(the list of users for that list) and SMTP setting disables EXPN command.

I did rename the lists.txt file in the \list folder that stores the list of
lists and IMail created a new one when I sent the test message and this time
returned only the first line, '# Ipswitch, Inc. list server'. Not sure of
all the ramifications yet, of not having this file or not having it
'correct', but it did not affect adding a new list (I had to delete the line
in the file for this new list!)

Some limited testing seems to show that things work OK (I've not encountered
problems so far!). So it looks like one can delete/rename 'lists.txt' in the
\imail\lists folder, without causing trouble. Note that IMail will recreate
this file as needed (like when it does not exist and list command is sent or
when a new list is created).

HTH

Daniel Donnelly
