post rebukes and flames openly on the forum please, i do not usually respond
off the list. i'm only a 'useless list troll' if i'm off topic consistently,
or abusive, i Will get TOSsed. ipswitch will be faithful to protect you from
the likes of me.

faithful are the wounds of a friend, the kisses of an enemy are deceit.

hatred for my weird style elicits all kinds of responses. from this i winnow
the best responses from those whose personal 'noise filters' don't block
content.

what does this mean? if i flag your noise filter, you likely are too young
or inexperienced to have anything for me. if you are in management or
marketing, my chatty excessively personal writing style is designed to get
you to 'see my name and delete me immediately'. i'm in lot's of peoples
filters.

i want that.

reasons below: follow the personal link for a real lecture on the subject, i
can talk with my hands too, you'll see. actually if you follow the thread
from the beginning, you'll see that it was an attempt to get off the orbs
thread. i got an excellent answer from support, and this morn have
determined where to start a security analysis of LDAP and AD.

any group of people, like-minded or not is a social group necessarily.

like doesn't have anything to do with information.

i waste bandwidth with noise, this is ok, if your problem is mission crit,
you should be calling or emailing support. most of my troubles aren't so
huge.

why am i so curious about just one of my many apps?

i don't understand AD (active directory). i've been trying to understand AD
by studying it directly for a year and a half now. i've given up, and i'm
trying to determine it's characteristics based on it's impact, yes, it's
effect on a product that i've run successfully without the AD.

Ms. Metre: forgive my arrogant stupidity, i'm blind: i cannot see the wind
the way everyone else tells me that they 'see' it. i don't understand them
and i've never been able to relate to normal socialized enfranchised members
of our society because of this, i only see the wind's effect. that's why i
believe in the wind, not because i claim to see it, but i see what it does.

i lecture on the subject here:
www.patmathews.net/1.avi

please listen and then call the authorities, i doubt that i'm really worthy
of normal social interaction with the society that produces vietnam,
watergate, survivor, littleton, mcveigh, kacinsky, disgruntled worker
syndrome or white collar criminals et al. i'm not worthy. i see it it other
peoples eyes, especially corporate mgmt and market droids. i'm damaged
goods. foster care, hatred, etc.
i'm emotionally disturbed, i don't medicate against medical advice. i'm no
danger to myself or anyone else, but this life causes me to weep often.

i, being substandard than they can only produce what you hear in the avi.
please forgive me. i'll try to be better, but i don't understand the things
that normal people seem to already understand most times.

m$ doctrine is that AD is LDAP enabled, my original question obscurely
stated by a desire to entertain was:

who needs ldap anyway.... i just don't have your gift of putting it
succinctly. now, d3 is checking for me, he's with the band, see? but not
officially, he just babysits and makes sure that the salesmen also provide
us good bits here.

i expect to raise this issue with our web guy and router guy. i don't really
speak to much router or web, my limited talent and experience relegate me to
the lowly role of board and drive swapper and all around server geek. so
there! a left handed concurrence sir, never let it be said that i said "Me
too" in a mere 2 words!! i have a reputation to protect.

paddy mcblarney
low priest of quantum verbosity
thanks for all the fiche- d.adams revised

I don't even enable the service. No need. No desire. No point.

Who needs LDAP anyway?

life is indeed bleak. there is NO moderator. this is anarchy at it's finest.
action is the only solution for entropy. ergo, i'm created, therefore i am,
cuz most times if i thought, i wouldn't be wondering if i was.
those of us who want one outcome or another need to act consistently with
our desires:
i have a question that has been bothering me about LDAP and Imail:
this is not mission crit, but maybe we can waste some cycles on an academic
issue. i migrated 5k plus users from a reliable linux config that was
upstream from me, good config on their boxes, solid: but the upstream
providor in that direction was dicey and unresponsive. my users had down
time. this cannot be.
i'm not your LDAP guru, in fact: what's an LDAP? wrong list, i'll ask around
elsewhere, point i'm making is: p136 in the manual (being stupid i read
manuals, it helps mitigate my stupidity) tells me that if i do what i did
(and i did) that i may want to populate the ldap directory. does this mean
that my 6500 hippies, yuppies, and farmers now are able to see server side
info on the client side? there's some things they don't really need to know
about each other...
Rants, war stories, flames and links appreciated.
As Self Appointed List Troll (ol s.a.l.t.) i say that if empty hands are a
devils workshop... what's an empty mind? his kitchen! someone learn me ova
heah, hah?
