What's the advantage of renewing our contract? Will we still get minor
updates without a contract? I've never once used tech support (thanks list!)
and really don't want to pay for another year.
How many list members out there are running with no contract? Any problems
so far?

Though the forum is really a place for users to discuss messaging issues, I
felt that there is some confusion about the Ipswitch policy on how to get
version 7.0 when it is released and I wanted to make sure our policy is
clear. There are four main groups of users:
1. Current Service Agreement holders - Any customer with a valid service
agreement will automatically receive version 7.0 free of charge.
2. Expired Service Agreement holders - We discussed this internally and
felt it important to recognize that we do appreciate the support of our
customers and because some users did not receive a major upgrade during the
length of their service agreement we will be offering a free upgrade to
version 7.0 for any customer that had purchased a service agreement since
the release of version 6.0 regardless of whether they are current or not.
3. Users under warrantee - These users will receive version 7.0 for no
additional cost.
4. No Service Agreement - These users will need to purchase a service
agreement to get version 7.0.
There is always the possibility that a valid service agreement was
registered with an incorrect serial number. In which case we would have
sent a message to the owner of IMail Server a message saying they would need
to buy a service agreement. When in fact, they do not. We just have
incorrect information in our database. I hope this helps to clear up any
confusion on the subject.
