Minor updates (so far) have been free downloads as far as I know. We're
running iMail 6.06 without a contract, but since we just purchased it a
couple weeks ago, we're still within the guarantee period and will be
getting the 7.0 upgrade for free :) I've been using iMail since v4.0, and
like you, never once needed to contact tech support. That's not to say I
never had problems, but they've always ended up fixable. The foreseeable
future does not see us getting a support contract.
