>12/14/2001 11:30:39 Q373f222 Scanned: Virus Free [MIME: 2 208]
The file you sent to our virustrap@ address arrived. It was caught on our
server. It was sent as a plaintext segment, so if the mail client treated
it as an attachment, the mail client is responsible for making sure that
the file really is truly text and not an executable attachment. It is sent
with a file name, however.
Note that the eicar.com file is unusual because it doesn't have the high
bit set for any bytes in it, which would be nearly impossible for a real
virus to do. That's why the mail client allows it to be saved as a plain
text file.
Declude v1.26 and higher will decode these plaintext segments and send them
to the scanner.
