I have run Imail for a few years, we are very anti-spam. Stupid spamcop - who cannot send an email to the abuse of the domain - has us listed as a spammer.
They have 3 complaints against us. 2 are because they took the submitters email (a user of ours) as the sender. WHen I notified them of the problem, they never corrected it. Now I get one tonight - someone using an account as a drop box, we do not allow any smtp relaying including auth, outside of our ipblock. It is set up right it works - their report says 7 relayclosed. What are they talking about ? It was never open. So what is up with these idiots? I don't see them listed in our declude list of checks, does anyone use them? From my expierence, I cannot ever think of using them. THey seem like a bunch of kids playing. Why wouldn't you send the email to the abuse of the offending domain? that is just stupid. who checks the whois record email? (I happened to tonight so I caught it, but a whois email is nothing but a spam catcher) So since my first request to fix the problem fell on deaf ears, any idea how to deal with these idiots? If people really are using their list, them I am really going to be pissed.
