Hmmm.... I don't know if this will help, but do they have caching turned on
in their browsers? For IE5+, check Tools, Internet Options. Under
Temporary Internet Files, click Settings. Try having them set "Check newer
versions of stored pages" to "Every Visit To Page".

What "might" be happening is their browsers are pulling up cached pages and
not hitting the server to keep their session alive??? <-- wild guess. If
their browser fetches a new page from the server more often, they should get
their full 12 minutes.

Norm, et.al.:

Some of the problem could be the 12 minute limit. Most of it just can't be.
I've watched several of the users hit the reply button, type "ok" or
"thanks" and hit send only to be sent back to the login screen. That action
took a total of about 20 seconds. Does hitting the reply button count as
activity? IOW, if you were idle for 12 minutes and then hit the reply
button, would you be sent to the login screen?

Regards,

Andy

I think the problem is that the time spent on writing a message is longer
than the time set to keep your session alive. Basically, your web messaging
session is timing out and you're getting kicked back to the login screen
to login again (to renew your session).

Not sure if there is a solution for this.

Hi all:

We're using an outsourced mail provider that is using imail to give us
web-based email. The problem that we're having is that after you are logged
into the mailbox (IE 5.5 & 6 over ISDN/dial-up) and try to reply or send new
mail, often you will be sent back to the login screen. The email you were
typing is gone and not sent. We have about 5 users on at any time all using
a 3COM ISDN LAN modem. Some users are also using earthlink dial-up. Seems
to happen on both and our provider isn't of much help. Any ideas?

Andy
