If they have someone who runs their mailserver, ask them to telnet to the 
SMTP port on their mailserver.  It won't work (since telnet sends the 
stream in small packets of typically a couple characters at a time, rather 
than a whole line at a time, which their mailserver requires), whereas if 
they try it for any other mailserver, it will.

Note that they are running v4.01.03 and v4.01.09 of their mailserver, yet 
the release notes for the mailserver they run don't even include those 
versions (they skip from from 4.00.xx to 4.10.xx).  So they are likely 
running an old beta version of their mailserver.
