We've been doing this kind of thing for some of our customers, but we've
been sheepish about violating the 'limitation'... so we set up a 2 character
alias and point it at a 3 character address... Once their email client is set up
nobody ever knows the difference.
The problem with using the command line (or any other tweak) to get past
this is that if somebody decides to make the limitation stick - there will be
trouble.
