Hi Flemming,

Our company is actually in the process of evaluating other mail products and MailMax has come up as one of them.  Are there any particular reasons as to why you switched to Imail from MailMax?

To me it appears as a erronius limitation brought on Imail by the Web interface people. Im using the the Imail database and have move my account from an other mail-server system (MailMax) using scripts.

If you use the commandline to create/modify and handle you users youll have no proble with Imail and 2 characters in the Userid or Alias you can use (try) the following:

                      Adduser.exe h mydomain.com u xx p secret +web +active +info

It will create without ANY error an account for [EMAIL PROTECTED]

If you logon to view mail itll work

If you send/receive mail itll work

Any operation not going true some validation routine will work and I have this feeling that deep down in Imail 2 character (or even 1) is no problem.

Any good Idears ???

Flemming

We have a couple 2 character usernames, we use an external database and created them directly in there.  Strange things happen though with web based trying to view, or change them.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Fw: Having USERID of 2 characters

I'm looking for a way to have "Imail webinterface" and "Imail Administrator" accept userid or alias of 2 characters length.

We are currently having user with email address of [EMAIL PROTECTED] - As we are migrating to Imail we need it to accept the 2 characters.

If we use the commandline interface (scripts) to create the account there are no problems. Commandline will accept 2 characters (even 1) as the userid.

Question:

            1. Have anyone circumventet this limitation

            2. Does ANYONE see any reason for this limitation ..

regards
