Do remember that lists like this make it seem that there are a lot more
problems than their really are. It is silly for everyone (like myself) who
has done the upgrades with no problems whatsoever to post every day that
things are running great. You only hear from the people who are having
problems.

Also, in my opinion the majority of people who post with a problem have a
problem that is fixable. For example, the number of people with broken DNS
is huge. Once one of the DNS gurus on this list helps them fix it, their
problems go away.

That is not to say that there are not bugs out there. There are definately
things they could do to make the product more stable under extreme load
and/or low memory. Nevertheless, my impression is that problems with Imail
on true server-class hardware with adequate hard drive space and memory are
relatively few.

I host a number of soccer-related websites and lists. During the world cup I
was moving 250,000 messages a day on a 550mhz machine with 0 problems. I
have *never* had an Imail service freeze or stop unexpectedly under any
version of 7. I believe this is due to running quality hardware (I run
Compaq servers) and the configuration/optimization help I have recieved over
the years from this list.

And no, I don't have any connection to Ipswitch or Compaq.
