As an OS, I firmly believe, (I control/support 11 in house and 14 client W2K servers and 1 in house and 3 client NT 4.0 servers,) that W2K server is a solid OS that is more robust and stable than NT 4.0. The 4 NT 4.0 servers I support basically sit there and only provide file and authentication service (3) or a singe specific application (1).
As for the NT 4.0 servers, there is only one that I am pressing the client to upgrade to W2K. (He has budget problems.) I am having fewer issues with W2K than with NT 4.0, and stay of top of patches and maintenance. As for Imail, our policy is to stay current where possible, so we are running 7.13, so I can not offer any comment on using 6.0x. Hope this helps.
