Have no other problems on my box with several other apps. This appears to
localized to Imail. It needs to be addressed. Removing security patches is
not an option.
FWIW, the Microsoft patch broke existing functionality. The patch does 2 things: [1] It fixes a security flaw, and [2] "includes changes to message handling by some Microsoft provided processes that can run as interactive services." on Windows 2000. #2 caused existing functionality to break. It is 100% a Microsoft problem.

It is also worth noting that this the security flaw that the patch protects against *only* affects servers that hackers have physical access to. It does not affect remote access. So the security patch is only necessary in cases where your physical security of the mailserver is minimal (if a hacker has physical access to your server, they could just as easily pull out the hard drive and bring it home with them).

Should Ipswitch fix this problem? Definitely. Should they provide a patch for older versions of IMail? I think so, but then again, the proper solution is for Microsoft to fix what *they* broke. So if you yell at Ipswitch, you have to yell at Microsoft as well.
