yes, thats exactly my problem, and i feel strongly this is a form of a bug that shouldn't exist. You have a very good point that has not yet been treated in this thread. IMail is fully capable of verifying whether an address at a local host actually exists. In fact, it applies this very logic in the very bad, ill-advised, never-to-be-used 'Relay for Local Users' relay option. You must never, ever use this option, as it will make you an open relay due to the ease of forging such addresses. But the fact is that IMail already does support this logic, somewhere. Unfortunately, the code path "shorts out" this helpful logic when you choose the only acceptable relay choices, 'Relay for Addresses [plus AUTH]' or 'Do not Relay [except AUTH]'--relay sessions under these options do not apply the logic, nor do local sessions. As I have mentioned previously on this forum, the merging of the local user verification option with the rest of the product would be a great improvement. -Sandy ------------------------------------ Sanford Whiteman, Chief Technologist Broadleaf Systems, a division of Cypress Integrated Systems, Inc. e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------ To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/ .
