I've seen instances of this lately, maybe they were always there and I never
noticed, but is this a sign of a problem? I checked the KB but saw no
mention of it...

Log:

02:10 03:40 SMTPD(queue run) 97721 12 613
02:10 03:40 SMTPD(34FD0134) idle timeout
02:10 03:40 SMTPD(3A3C0132) idle timeout
02:10 03:40 SMTPD(3285014C) idle timeout
02:10 03:40 SMTPD(29D1014E) idle timeout
02:10 03:40 SMTPD(42DD0106) idle timeout
02:10 03:40 SMTPD(30730140) idle timeout
02:10 03:40 SMTPD(3AAD012A) idle timeout
02:10 03:40 SMTPD(3A5600E6) idle timeout

This seems to happen after each queue run starts, sometimes shows 1 idle
timeout, sometimes like above. Is this a potential server issue? or
<hopefully> something simple to look for? A search in the log for the number
in () show the mail coming in, sent to spool, the timeout, and then zilch,
not to be seen again. Some are killed by Declude, so that's ok, but I've
seen messages that don't seem to go anywhere. That's what worries me. Here's
an example from the log:

02:10 20:11 SMTPD(1670014A) [63.160.179.20] connect 63.160.179.220 port 1046
02:10 20:11 SMTPD(1670014A) [63.160.179.220] HELO hppav
02:10 20:11 SMTPD(1670014A) [63.160.179.220] MAIL FROM: <valid user>
02:10 20:11 SMTPD(1670014A) [63.160.179.220] RCPT TO: <valid address>

that's it. 30 minutes later......

02:10 20:43 SMTPD(queue run) 6620 9 851
02:10 20:43 SMTPD(1670014A) idle timeout

That's the last bit for 1670014A - no spool message ID no nothing! So since
this is a user of ours, I need to know what's going on.

Thanks!

Paul
