I would be very upset to if I paid for a massage and got nothing out of it either. (Sorry, couldn't resist.) :)) I am assuming you mean this happened in your Outlook. Are you using POP3 or MAPI? You said the subject line was correct. Was it appended by Forward or Regarding? How were you deleting, right clicking and choosing delete, or dragging to your delete folder shortcut on the left side?
