I was planning on 1)backing up jvcmedia.com, deleting, and re-adding with an IP address;
huh?
2)adding a jvcmedia.com host on atlmail. 3)setting up a second MX record for jvcmedia.com pointed to the 2nd server. 4)forwarding all jvcdiscusa.com mail to jvcmedia.com
what do you think ?
setup two imgate servers, run both as MX 10 for jvcmedia.com.
setup both Imail machines as peers for jvcmedia.com
each Imail relays out to IMGate
each Imail exports its user list to each IMGate (I can point you to an excellent tool for this).
Incoming mail for [EMAIL PROTECTED] comes to either IMGate and gets relayed directly to the correct Imail box.
If one IMGate goes down, all mail is routed through the other IMGate.
If one IMail goes down, both IMGates will hold its mail until it comes back up.
There is no need for any SMTP traffic over the leased line, giving you a lot of bandwidth back, as well as IMGate preventing all the peer re-delivery traffic.
